The announcement was made by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce at the Networking Power Hour & Small Business Awards reception held on May 31, 2012.
To be eligible for this award consideration Travel To Go was required to be a member in good standing of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and must have a company product or service that has been demonstrated to be creative and innovative in ways leading to success in the appropriate marketplace. Travel To Go was also required to have received acknowledgement by peers or to have been recognized by the media for their creativity, innovation and success.
Travel To Go has been a proud member of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years, beginning in 2002. Travel To Go was nominated specifically for their development of its private label website and their development and implementation of an innovative email marketing system.
“We couldn’t be prouder of all of our small business members, finalists and award winners,” said Ruben Barrales, San Diego Chamber President and CEO. “It’s not easy being a small business in today’s economy. Through hard work and innovation, these businesses have managed to thrive and contribute to the commercial prosperity of our community.”
Travel To Go was especially pleased to be an award finalist as hundreds of nomination submissions were received. From its humble beginnings in 1990 as a small family owned business, the company has evolved into a progressive and cutting-edge company. Its primary focus during the first ten years was to provide luxury resort accommodations for private corporations. In 1999, the company began to utilize its high-volume purchasing power and began to make its services available to savvy travelers. This led to the opening of a full service travel agency and the company’s transition into a private membership organization. As a result of increasing demand for Travel To Go’s services, its Private Label Website System, which allows it to offer custom and uniquely branded websites to distributors, was developed.
